We begin a new sermon series called The Blood: Covered · Cleansed · Conquering.

I see this series as a journey, one the blood opens for each of us. Like Israel, we start in Egypt, rescued from judgement and slavery. We move on to the presence of God, cleansed and brought near. And we end in victory, free from guilt and from the accuser. Here is the road ahead:

Part 1 – When I See the Blood: rescued and set free
Part 2 – Better Blood: cleansed and brought near to God
Part 3 – They Overcame: kept and victorious

Then the whole series will flow into a fourth sermon and a special communion Sunday. We gather around the Lord's Table every week, but this time we'll come having walked the whole journey together, to the table where Jesus said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." I can't think of a better way to finish. Please make every effort to be with us for all four Sundays, and bring a friend who needs to hear that there is a blood that speaks a better word.

Saint Thomas Methodist Church has a food pantry that gives away food every Saturday morning from 9 to noon. New Hope is partnering with them by donating canned food. This way we are not duplicating a service they have well established. They have informed us there is a special need for personal hygiene items, such as soap, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products. All non-perishable items are welcome. Also items such as laundry detergent, toilet papers, paper towels any many other things are needed. You may place your items on the table on the right when you enter the building. If you want to bring any during the week, please call and make sure someone will be here when you arrive. Please remember NO items with expired dates. Thanks!
